The head of our household is Michael (Mike). Mike is a mechanic by nature. He has a real knack for fixing things and coming up with ways to make or improve things. He is very intellectual. Mike loves to research every step of the way before he dives in. But once he jumps in their is no stopping him. He is a born again Christian who loves to spend time pleading for others as an abolitionist.
The Second in command is Heather. Heather is the artist of the family. She loves all things crafty and earthy. She is a colorist and just thinks if it isn’t pretty why bother? She has a lot to bring to this blog with crochet how-to’s, oil painting, quilting, baking, design, writing (as she hopes to write and publish a book one day) and of course parenting and DIY oils and blends. She would say that she is a hippie by nature but it’s probably from her Native American (Chickasaw Tribe) roots.
The oldest of the seven children (mini journers) Is Anika. Before we know it we’ll be blogging about her being a young adult and all her adventures of her own. But for now she is an amazing artist with her animation improving daily. On top of the constant drawing, Anika loves to read. She is big into the Lord of the Rings trilogy and wants to do computer animation one day.
Shyannne, oh Shyanne (pronounced Cheyenne)…..what can we say about our second
oldest. She is our strong willed perfectionist. A mini me to her mother she is tough as nails when she needs to be and sticks up for the underdog. But she loves baking and reading. Spending most of her time in her nook with a good book. But this almost teen is also into legos. She sees herself as a future doctor and we expect big things from her in the future.
Our third born child is Allyson (Ally). Allyson is quite the little creator herself as she can make what seems like anything out of legos or pipe cleaners. She is pretty self reliant and also enjoys reading and My Little Ponies. She does not know what she wants for her future yet but she still has time to figure it out. We can not get enough of her cheerful personality.
Malachi is our oldest son and 4th in line of the crew. He is adopted and we are so thankful God sent him to our family. Malachi is a strong willed hard worker. He dreams of being a firefighter one day. We would love nothing more than to see him achieve his dreams. But for now, we are looking forward to just spending a lot of time with him and teaching him to be a good humble man one day.
Levi the second oldest boy really shows his native roots in his appearance. He is a complete ham. Silly and loves to sing. If this kid could he would sing instead of talk. He also is an artist like his mother and oldest sister. And enjoys playing with cars and musical instruments. But this kid can also be found sitting and reading any Pete the Cat book on the shelf. He is a total mama’s boy.
The last boy in the pack is Shyloh, He is the youngest of our adopted children. This silly boy loves stuffed animals and being rough and tough. He thinks that he is a ninja but a softhearted one, lol. He loves cuddles and kisses. He likes being in his own little world of make believe.
The last but not least of the sojourning tribe and baby of the family is the one and only Amariah. She came into this world smiling and ready for her photo shoot and has loved the camera ever sense. This little cutie loves all things girlie and baby dolls. Pretend cooking you name it. What else is a five year old to do? Dress up and day dream. We do
not know what we would do with out her goofy comments and silly songs.
We home school our children and try to raise them to believe in themselves and respect others. Focusing on the unconditional love and a Father in Heaven who will never leave us or forsake us.
our family motto is “When we know better, we do better”
“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”-James 1:27
“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” –James 14:18
“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” –Micah 6:8
